What's this then?

THE FLUFF

As a child, my sister and I developed our own slightly off beat rating for restaurants and hotels. We would know we’d moved from Budget B&B to the Big Time entirely by the quality and creativity of the ladies loo. The fancier the better as far as we were concerned...
Thankfully in the interests of my integration into normal society, over time, I developed a more refined barometer for picking special places that I might just want to return to. My formula for a keeper is simple.  A. Do they serve breakfast? B. Do they serve breakfast until 12? C.Is the orange juice freshly squeezed and do they have Eggs Benedict? My ABC of breakfast bliss.
Truth be told, it isn’t just restaurants that are measured by my Breakfastometer.
My most enduring relationships have owed much of their success to the man in question’s canny ability to know just how much I love breakfast, intuitively feeding my obsession with lazy Sunday brunch dates or croissants and vanilla lattes served hot in bed. One inspired man even took me on to Mexico to savour real Huevos Rancheros.
Friendships too have been cemented around chunky wooden tables in Delis fragrant with the smell of baking muffins. The years have taught me that nothing celebrates a new job or engagement better than a fizzy champagne brunch and there is no kinder way to commiserate a broken heart than by offering French toast with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a patient ear to listen.
Knowing that my friends love breakfast and brunch as much as I do and being blessed with a rich sprinkling of them all over the World, I have asked them to help me compile our favourite places to enjoy Breakfast. Living in London, as rich in wintry mornings as it is fabulous restaurants, I’ve also asked them to share their favourite breakfast recipes so even if you’re too lazy to leave the house, Breakfast is just a kitchen stumble away.
If by chance you stumble upon this Blog, I hope that it unlocks a door into a small corner of magic one Sunday morning for you to enjoy on your own, with a friend or even that new lover...
